Sberbank Retakes Summit of All-Russia Research Team

Last year VTB Capital knocked Sberbank CIB out of the top spot on the All-Russia Research Team,亚博赞助欧冠’s exclusive annual ranking of the nation’s best sell-side analysts. This year Sberbank returns the favor. It captures 12 positions, one fewer than in 2014 but one more than VTB Capital, whose total falls by three.

Deutsche Bank is No. 3 for a seventh straight year. Its total of seven also reflects a loss of three positions. In fourth place for a third year running is Bank of America Merrill Lynch, with six spots, down from seven in 2014. UBS, in fifth place, is alone among this year’s top-five firms in earning the same number of appearances as last year, five.

Survey results reflect the opinions of 340 individuals at 240 buy-side institutions that oversee an estimated $121 billion in Russian equity and fixed-income assets.

  • Alexander Kudrinof Sberbank CIB, Fixed-Income Strategy.
  • One leaps from runner-up:

  • Svetlana Sukhanovaof UBS, Consumer.
  • And there is one newcomer:

  • Alexander Fakshoots straight in at No. 1 in Oil & Gas; the Sberbank CIB researcher replaces former colleague (and six-time sector leader) Oleg Maximov, who moved to the buy side last summer.
  • Three analysts are dually ranked this year:

  • George Buzhenitsaof Deutsche Bank, No. 1 inMetals & Mining和No. 2 inReal Estate;

  • Only three analysts have made the team every year since it was introduced, in 2004:

  • Alexander Kazbegiof Renaissance Capital, runner-up in Telecommunications; and
  • Alexander Kudrinof Sberbank CIB, No. 1 in Fixed-Income Strategy.
  • Among other highlights of this year’s results:

  • Deutsche Bank is the only top-five firm with no runner-up positions. All of its ranked analysts earn third place or better.
