S&P Seeks To Revise Criteria For Rating Banks
Standard & Poor’s Rating Services is seeking comment on proposals to revise the criteria it uses to rate banks.
Standard & Poor’s Rating Servicesis seeking comment on proposals to revise the criteria it uses to rate banks. S&P says the changes, which it calls significant, would “improve transparency” about its rating by providing much greater detail on how it develops its issuer credit ratings on retail, commercial, and corporate and investment banks. The criteria would reflect a “greater emphasis” on economic risk and industry risk under its banking industry country risk assessment methodology. Deadline for comments is March 7.
